Really cute hidden outdoor bar. It wasn't that busy because it was raining off and on but it's a great place for live music and a drink. I got shrimp tacos. OMG, why would a place a mile from the beach IN Florida for crying out loud use CANNED shrimp on tacos?!?!? Absolutely disgusted, sent it back not to mention beyond salty. I ordered a burger and fries because how can that get screwed up? Burger was ok. It was salty and the fries were all salt. I don't get it? Why?! Great place, service great, maybe it was the cook that night but I won't eat there again.

Great atmosphere, great staff, great food, great music, & great management. I've been here 3 times in the last week and every time there was a different genre of live music (all of which was really good!) I came with the Elation Vodka Team for the Sunday Reggae Fest; giving samples of the chronic tonic drink and pot brownie shot. We loved everything about this place, and decided to stay longer for some food and more of the good vibes. I wish I was going to be in town when our Elation Vodka team does another round of tasting for international reggae fest this coming Sunday. I hope that someone reading this gets to enjoy the show for the both of us, (and you're welcome for the free pot brownie shot or bloody mary jane that you'll get to try if you do go.) ;)

My experience here has never been one of complete satisfaction but lately it's plummeted to new lows. Every time I've gone I had to look for a server to order from or hope to catch the bartenders attention to order a drink or food. The bartenders are always seemingly swamped. And it's very hard to get service. There's no real drink specials that are advertised and every time I ordered food it came out ice cold. I've seen my order sit on the pickup area getting cold while whoever was supposed to deliver it was nowhere to be found. This, coupled w their erratic choice of music (Ozzy cover bands really?) and a $19 Groupon to see a Stones cover band ? Then the day of that show the price went down to $7. I felt bad for the suckers who'd pay anything for these bands. We used to enjoy Wed nights w local rock bands but now of course it's redneck central w "country cover bands" woo hoo. (NOT). It's just another good ole boy bar now and my group of friends won't be patronizing anymore. It's just not that good now. The food has always sucked and come out of a deep fryer based food truck, ice cold and service is inattentive and discourteous.

This was the first time I had been to this place, but it was recommended by a friend who said it was a cool atmosphere and had live music (both of which were true, to be clear). However, we waited almost 20 minutes for a waitress (and appeared to be ignored when we tried to get the attention of the servers). It wasn't until one of the guys I was with got up and tracked someone down that we actually were waited on. Despite the rough start, we were there for a solid 5 hours... they had cider on tap, so I was a happy camper. Prices were responsible for the drinks and the food was good (we had nachos and the pita/hummus dips). The music was decent... nothing wonderful but definitely gave this place a nice vibe. We will certainly return.

Good place to sit at a bar outside with great hamburgers. Nice casual atmosphere! I haven't gone there at night but I understand there is Music by a band.

Have been here more than a handful of times, but the service lately has been great. Michael's the man. Remembers a face, what you drink, event he water. Greets you with a smile and makes you feel at home, even when it's tourist season. Well done sir. Well done.

My husband and I went to check out a local band at The Backyard tonight and the service was HORRIBLE enough to bring it down to one star. The band we were watching was playing two sets. When they announced the would play 2 more songs and then take a break, we made our way over to a table and ordered dinner so that we could eat during the set break and get back to dancing. I ordered fish dip and my husband ordered a cheeseburger. After we ordered, another party sat down at the table next to us and also ordered fish dip. We waited about 15 minutes and a server walked over and said, "Fish dip and fries?" I said we had a fish dip but we were waiting on a burger. He walked away and gave the food to the table next to us. 5 minutes later, the server walked back over and handed my husband his burger and said, "I guess we're out of fish dip. What else do you want?" I said, "But the fish dip just got to the table over there and we ordered ours first. So...?" And he just looked at me blankly. I was annoyed but asked for a menu and asked what I could order and get quickly since my husband already had his food. He suggested the chips and salsa. Seriously? For my dinner? I said, "How about a salad? What's in the salad of the day that's listed on the menu?" He said, "I don't know. Do you want me to check?" Again...seriously? I asked him to please check. He came back a couple of minutes later and said, "That's not a good choice. It's just lettuce, tomato, onion, and cucumber. I don't think you'll like it." I was hungry and irritated at this point. I asked if the pulled pork in the pork tacos was already cooked (to make sure all they needed to do was assemble them) and he said yes. I ordered the tacos and asked him to please ask them to hurry since my husband was almost done with his food (I told him to go ahead and eat so it wouldn't get ice cold) and the band was getting ready to go back on. I waited. And waited. And waited. The band was in the middle of their set and I was stuck at the table instead of up dancing. I asked for a manager and explained the situation to the bartender since the waiter was nowhere to be found. He came back a few minutes later and said they would buy me a drink for my trouble. I insisted on talking to the manager and said if my food wasn't free at this point (it was 45 minutes after my husband had gotten his food) that I didn't want it. He said fine, I didn't have to pay for the tacos. They finally showed up a few minutes later (as the band was playing their second to last song) and to add insult to injury, they were COLD. They tasted ok, not great, and after I dumped enough hot sauce on them they were edible, but certainly not worth the wait. And then when I asked for the check, THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME FOR THE FISH DIP and only took the tacos off as a "dissatisfied guest" discount. It took ANOTHER 10 minutes to get the check fixed by the glassy eyed, bored server. The band was excellent and that was the only saving grace of the whole evening, but I will never eat there again. Not worth the irritation.

My first time experience was great. My wife and I loved the atmosphere, food, and music. Great place to unwind and relax. Only issue is parking and finding the location. It's well hidden behind other building on Federal Highway. I highly suggest using your GPS to find this location. Other than that I would recommend this place to others.

Backyard is a real local pub. It is an interesting place to stop by, have a beer and watch the crowd. The concept is simple, outdoor establishment with two big bars and some tables around, they have live music and cover bands every weekend. The menu consists simply of a typical bar food. I had the fish tacos and I'm not sure why the other customers are raving about them, they were just ok as well were the conch fritters. Beers on tap include some local (by local I mean Floridian) selection which was nice and of course they have bottled brew from the big American companies. The bar tenders were a little bit overwhelmed on Friday night, you may need to work harder to get their attention, but service was overall ok. If it stands true they have country music night on Wednesday I made a promise to be back next time I'm around. Otherwise Backyard is a little bit too rowdy for my taste.

This place used to be awesome. They get a bonus star for the myriad of events that go on here everyday. Bit whether it's under new management or why they decided to change things up, I'm not sure, but I'm not a fan. Great local place, but there are better places now unfortunately. Wish they hadn't made the changes.

The Backyard was recommended as a good place to have a drink and listen to live music. Went there tonight and they had a $10 cover charge for a 70-80's cover band. Service was very attentive at the bar, drinks and food were just ok. Fish tacos and conch fritters were recommended but neither were on the bar menu. Shared the sliders and coconut shrimp, just bar food nothing amazing. Would come back just for a few drinks and to listen to music.

First time I visited Backyard, they had an offer that said, if you signed up with them, giving them your date of birth, you would receive a birthday present! I did...and got an email later, where they invited me to a free appetizer and a piece of cake for a group of four or more!! I went there with my best friend and really enjoyed it. Got my favorite Key Lime pie for dessert!! Delicious!!! Good music, nice atmosphere and in all a bar of my taste and a place I'll definitely visit again, whenever I get a chance.

It has been a while since we had gone to "The Backyard" and we were around the area so hey, why not. Still had the same atmosphere and lay out as we remember... The tiki torches, backyard theme which we liked... On Fridays and on most weekend nights they have a band playing and the one that performed last night rocked!! They played mostly alternative rock from the late 90's and 2000's but they could play! We ordered to start their guacamole chips and they were ok, also ordered their sweet potato fries and that we sent back because they were bad! I guess they must have changed the cook since we last came because the last time - their sweet potato fries were to die for! Not this time around.... Service was awesome... But the drinks felt watered down and came in small plastic cups - yet our friend got an actual glass? Strange.... Fish tacos were actually very good and the atmosphere as well. We wished they had drink specials because other local restaurants have amazing deals and much better selections. We don't think we are going to be returning any time soon as the bill seemed pretty high for what was ordered. There are better local selections around town for dinning and entertainment.

Yelpers beware: they will not honor the $5 off lunch check-in offer on Yelp :( Granted, I went there for the first time for lunch. It's close to the office and I've always wanted to go so, hey - why not? Lindsay the bartender was nice, informative and enthusiastic. You can tell by the way the place is laid out, it's a live music/party venue. I've heard good things about the bands and the vibe so I promise to revisit this review with a evening perspective. The food: I ordered a cheese burger - medium. It was rare :(. I ate it anyway, scooping out some raw meat from the center of the burger. My co-working had fish tacos and they said they were ok. Beer was cold and that's never a bad thing. I think if you venture in at night for live music and drinks, it's a winner. For lunch, not so much.

This is your typical sports bar only difference is that it has a chill ambience to it. If it weren't for the outside atmosphere and beach-inspired setup then I'd leave it as 2 stars I've been to this place a handful of times. Of course coming here I ordered your typical bacon burger, fries, and wings Even a chicken sandwich or something like that. The wings weren't anything special. Just your basic wing and buffalo sauce The bacon burger was greasy and the fries were over-salted and had excessive oil The chicken sandwich was flavorless and lacked in satisfaction. Basic bar. Not coming back again. This place has potential too. Sad.

It seems like only locals know about this spot. Redesigned and reopened in February, formally Cuttys, now The Backyard is just that. The perfect south Florida backyard. Ring game, bags, wood tables, tiki torches, gravel walkways and 2 huge bars make this a comfortable place to enjoy yourself. The most interesting part is the kitchen... Everything is cooked out of an old Airstream trailer. Simple bar menu with high priced ingredients. The only burgers on the Menu are Kobe Beef Sliders (3 for $13). Salty meat, great sauce, typical melted slice of cheddar. After a few more local craft beers and I could validate spending $13 for the sliders, but not now... You're paying for the crowd and atmosphere, not the burgers. If you're headed here... Turn when you see the neon palm trees.

Love this place. I have never had a bad time here. Food is better than o.k., but I don't come for the food. I come for the fun, live music and laid back Florida atmosphere. Whenever a friend or family member comes from out of town and wants to experience the flip flop lifestyle, The Backyard is a must.

You don't see places like this too often in Palm Beach County, but I'm glad I've experienced it. It's a good balance of embracing the craft beer scene while being strongly reminiscent of the Old Florida Beach Town vibe. Imagine that fort that you thought you were going to build when you were ten. Now upgrade it, add some chickee huts with bars underneath, big booths and a stage, and you'll probably be pretty close to the setup at The Backyard. If it weren't for the fact that we visited during summer, aka the time when just sitting outside makes one break into a sweat, we would have been perfectly at home while drinking beer and eating fish tacos as we listen to a great band. Don't expect the usual atmosphere here: this place is neither a meat market nor a place where yuppies hang, but it is a place where flip flops, shorts, fishing t-shirts and bringing your well-behaved dog along are all welcome. The menu is primarily fresh seafood with an emphasis on their raw bar offerings, and the fish tacos are pretty damned awesome, as are the key lime pie and the conch fritters. When we went, most of the taps were dedicated to local breweries (Due South, Tequesta and Miami Brewing that night) and the variety available was perfect for a large number of folks who are "outdoorsy" in that they like to drink on patios. We accidentally ordered too much food and ended up rolling out of there, happy, full and entertained.

. Extremely Pet Friendly. Local spot hidden between a few businesses. We stopped off because it was close by where we were visiting, and it was dog friendly they even had a bowl of water for our buddy. We were able walk him around the outdoor restaurant with no issues. . Unfortunately there was no live music when we went. The food menu is limited and cooked in the trailer next to the stage. The bars are huge and I could see this place would get crowded on weekends. Frozen drink machines a secondary bar in the back. There were sone locals sipping on a few cold guys at the bar and a few state troopers having lunch in this hide away spot. I had the pork tacos which was decent. the homemade Mozzarella sticks they were excellent. Good selection on tap beers also if you check in on yelp u save $5. Pleasant and efficient service. Not fancy what so ever did I mention it was pet friendly.

They suck you in with Happy Hour $2.25 Domestic and $3.50 Import Drafts. Then you get the bill and its $6.50 per beer. "Sorry, Good Beer is not part of the deal" Do Happy Hour in Delray. Nicer places with AC outside and better deals on beer and food. First and last time for me!

This little hole in the wall restaurant/bar in Boynton has a great beer list and simple food offerings. There is a small stage where a band plays and a dance floor for those of you that like to cut loose. The beers are fairly priced (we paid $5 for Jai Alai) and the food fresh. Your food is cooked in an Airstream trailer near the stage which really makes the experience. We ordered guacamole, flat bread, and wings. Everything was really delicious and fairly priced.

The Backyard is what it is...nothing more...nothing less...not a 5 star restaurant...not a hot dog stand. VERY nice and helpful staff (no question here)...food is a notch above average (wasn't expecting more, so OK on this count)...entertainment was live and very good if you like the particular genre that is offered..a Led Zepplin band was there the night I was and they were very good (unfortunately, I'm not a LZ fan)...crowd was behaved (what the heck...when I was there they were all around 60ish)...parking good and the place all in all very convenient. An interesting evening out...no complaints...nothing special either.

I love this place. It's great for a clear warm night. You can hear good live music and i always end up finding a person to make conversation with. The bartenders are very nice and always remember my drinks so I don't have to order them over and over. Great a place to bring friends. I only gave 4 stars because I wish the food menu had a little bit more and wasn't as pricey. But if you go just for drinks and entertainment you'll be very happy!

I feel like I'm actually in my backyard....except a thousand times better. I always get some sort of tropical punch. All I know is that there's rum in it....and it's amazing. Conch fritters are orgasmic. Nobody judges if you have a wardrobe malfunction. Friendly atmosphere.

  • Tara J.

Love the vibe here! Truly feels like Florida! This place is HUGE and though it's an all outdoor bar, there are several areas that are covered. It gets really packed here when high demand local bands are playing, so parking can pretty much be a nightmare, as is finding a place to sit. Best bet is to get there in the late afternoon and then stay all night. Drinks are reasonably priced, but they ran out of Corona when we were here. That just seems odd to me. Nevertheless, we'll be back!

My cravings for chicken wings got me to Backyard. I got 10 pcs of wings and they looked and tasted amazingly delicious. But i spent the whole night and the next couple of days in bathroom. I was so sick, like never in my life!!! So, I would not recommend to anyone to eat at this place. I also got to know that I am not the first person who got sick from their food! All in all my "Backyard" hurt from all the wings that came out from it for next three days. Eating at Backyard = Backyard ache!! Must get insurance before ordering food!!

Weather permitting, I sometimes stop in the Backyard after work. On more then one occasion my visit has lasted a lot longer than I intended. Why...you ask? Cause it's fun and this place rocks at night! The afternoon entertainment is usually good and the night time bands rarely disappoint. The beer is extra cold and the conch fritters are outstanding. The Backyard's somewhat hidden location is what makes it special and gives it an air of charm. Be forewarned though, the nighttime prices are a tad steep and you're likely to get a higher bill than you might expect.

Well, I must admit, I do love stopping by for an appetizer and a cold one every now and than. The atmosphere is always chill, and the people are fun. If your looking to be out-doors on a gorgeous day- this is the place to be, but if it's raining, never mind!!.(I do believe they are working on that though, it's still growing, since business seems to be booming.)There aren't many hangout spots like this one in Delray Beach, FL though, so I would consider it a must see for those visiting. They are known to have good bar food and live music on a daily basis. They recently had a Pirate Party, which turned out to be awesome. I do recommend attending, I do not recommend participating in any contest though. You will never win if they allow the workers to participate, it's impossible. I took 2nd place to the cocktail waitress there- go figure right??? On a better note, the mangement felt bad when I called them out on it, and hooked up our tab for free. I'm thinking, it may not happen again. But people should know since it was pretty messed up!!!! Good job, 1st place!!!

Went here last weekend with my fiance, because we have been looking for a restaurant with live music so we heard through a friend about Cuthill's. Was such a laid back, fun atmosphere and we had a blast! Did not try the food but we plan on eating next time. Will definitely be back soon especially to check out other bands!!

Backyard has become my husband and I's go-to spot! I've never had a bad meal or drink there. The steak tacos and buffalo sliders are my favorite, but I've also heard that their raw bar is great. My only complaint would be that they usually only have one selection of cider and it's often sold out. As far as entertainment goes, I've never heard a bad band or artist! Backyard is a great place to bring friends, especially out-of-towners who will love the ambiance!

A cool place for music and drinks! However, they do not accept yelp check in, explaining that they never have. Are not able to deactivate the coupon, could yelp look into this? Still quite nice, allowed me to sample several beers before choosing. Prices are right, servings are great sizes, staff is friendly!

Nice outdoor restaurant but easy to miss due to its location. Wait staff is personable and friendly. Menu is huge in size but selection is limited. Bright bold colors can't make up up for the lack of options to choose from. Guacamole appetizer is excellent. Waitress offered excellent locally brewed Deep South beer. Band playing live music was nice. Nothing special though. No drink specials and no signature dish that I can highly recommend. It's ok but not planning in going back any time soon.

Great place to have fun! They have lie music on the weekends great seafood an tacos and best of all is that they r a kids friendly environment! They also give military discount for active duty!!!

  • Janis L.

Cooked Food here was above average - sliders particularly were tasty. Our raw oysters were only ok - whoever shucked them kind of mangled a few of them - in addition, they were very inconsistent in size - a few so small that they looked like tiny manila clams. Drinks - below average. The margaritas tasted like a mix, the martinis were weak, and there is something odd about drinking a grey goose dirty out of plastic! Stick to beer here Ambience - FUn fun fun. Great music, lots of people looking for a great time. BUT - there is NO WAY to escape the cigarette smoke because everything is outside.

I must say, this place looks unassuming, but was suprisingly a lot of fun! I came here over the weekend to meet a few friends of mind that I haven't seen in ages. Little did I know that I was walking into a Pirate Party! Aaarrrrgghhh...plenty of wenches around to service our orders before the terrential downpour started. With the entire place being outdoors, the weather is a serious consideration. We watched as the clouds rolled in, but decided to hunker down under the cover of one of the bars. This ended up being a very good move and was well received by the bar staff. After a while of toughing out the cracks of lightening and gushing waters from above, the bartenders started handing out free shots to everyone as a thanks for sticking around. The staff at this bar is super friendly all around, and I'm not just saying that because of the free drinks! After pounding a few beers and one hell of a good Bloody Mary, I decided it was time to get my grub on. The menu looked pretty good. Not too big and complex, but not too small either. All of the food is cooked out of a trailer that is set up on the side of the bar area. I wasn't sure what to expect, and was very pleased with the product! I decided on the fish tacos and an order of the roast pig that they had on special. The tacos were spectacular! The fish was perfectly cooked and not over seasoned. The slaw that was served on the taco was a little light on the dressing, but it worked well with the little bit of lime that I squeezed over top. The pig was delicious as well. Served with an ear of roasted corn and a HEAPING mound of potato salad, it was almost too much to handle. My only complaint was that my serving of pork had a significant amount of fat instead of meat. That was just my luck of the draw because my friends all had a mound of pork..so I stole some of theirs. I have no shame when it comes to pig! When looking at some of the prior reviews, I get the impression that some people just need to KCCO and chill out a bit. I like this place. Overall, this is a great little bar with complimentary valet parking and a super friendly staff. I'll be back...and I live in Fort Lauderdale.

This place is really fun. Went to see the Bon Jovi cover band but I will be going back. Their burgers are awesome and the sweet potato fries are to die for! They were short staffed and our poor waitress was running around like crazy and some people were getting mad at her, but she came over as often as she could considering and apologized and I understand her situation. She was just so nice and sweet I felt really bad, but hopefully she made a lot of money that night! I am reminded of being on the beach or on a cruise and I can't wait to go back!

I came here last week to meet some friends for drinks. It took me a little bit to park because their situation definitely needs to be worked on. Right next to the bar is a rocky area parking area. Well, I drove around the rocky area for a few minutes and finally caught someone backing out. I parked and went inside. The inside is actually all outside. There was a guy playing the guitar and singing on the northeast corner of the bar itself. Walking past the large metal trailer (I think the kitchen), was the entrance and the bar. I met my friends at the bar and grabbed a menu. Vegetarians - do not come hungry. I think the only option on the menu was french fries. Everything else contained some form of meat. Overall, this location is a cool place to hang out and have drinks with friends.

One of our favorite places! I love the music and the atmosphere. Live music, the airstream trailer is the kitchen, the colorful lights at night, bag toss, everything is just so cool about this place. It's all outside. We bring everyone here. Love!

Great locals spot. A little hidden but great place. Good food. Live bands always a place. I have been there a few times now and had the tacos, burger and the sausage sandwich. All which have been great. I def recommend this place. I see you soon.

The fish dip is decent but ask them to replace the chips with more veggies as your teeth may shatter upon biting into the tri colors.... Sriracha is readily available and use of it is encouraged. Decent selection of local brews on tap. Personally like the day vibe better than night but if you're a fan of live rock band cover music (which they often have), PM may be more your style.

We are locals and tried this place 3 times now. First time it was very good, had a couple beers, shrimp, tacos, clams. The last 2 times was very disappointing. They cannot get the food to come out of the kitchen in a timely manner. Very haphazard. Too bad because its a nice outdoor space. My recommendation is to go for a beer only no food. The icing on the cake was when we spoke to manager (last night 3/20) he just walked away!!!! Don't waste your time or money here.

Stopped by between the rainstorms on Sunday afternoon to hear a fantastic steel drum performance with awesome (best I've ever had) fish tacos and supercold beer..we would have stayed longer but Mother Nature apparently wanted me to leave before I was ready.....one of the very best outdoor restaurant venues I've ever experienced....thumbs up (both)

I had driven down Federal Highway and passed this place up for who knows how long. I always wanted to know why there were so many green lights light up so far back off Federal. I decided to drive back there and found this place. I'll tell you what, "location, location, location" is something the owner must not care about. The place was pretty busy but I could only immagine what it would be like if people could like...know something was there! The ambiance was awesome. Its seriously like a backyard. There are two bar areas, separated by turning a corner. Its like being at two places because when you are in one area you dont know the other exists. They have a raw bar area too. The only thing I eat uncooked is ice cream so I dont know if its any good. The seating areas are in sand which is pretty cool. If you are not in a booth chair, you are stuck with a bar stool with out a back support. Sucks. There is an area with a stage for a band. There was a guy there singing for a short time while I was there. While he was on break, they had music playing with nearly busted my eardrums. When they lowered it a few songs later, people started clapping. They have a full bar and plenty of beers. I was a bit astounded when I got the bill and saw that I paid $10 for about 3 ounces of whisky on the rocks. Thats about the price of 1/3 a bottle. I got a burger. It was cooked perfectly. It was seasoned nicely and the meat tasted like it was of good quality. The bun was good too. I liked the condiments on the burger. Lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo (I think it was a mayo sauce), ketchup, and spicy mustard. I love spicy mustard. There were two jars of spicy sauce on the table. Both were very good. I got black beans and yellow rice as a side. I was glad they offered that rather than greasy fries. The food is cooked in a RV which is a little odd and scary. Its been over 24 hours and I feel fine. The service was a little bit slow for my liking. The prices of the food is reasonable for the taste. I am just a little disappointed with the price of the alcohol. For a bar, I would think they should do a little better in that department. Get us happy and then we wont know what we are paying for food. The profit on beer and hard liquor is pretty good so if I managed that place, Id certainly knock about 30% off those prices. They are making about $100 a bottle.

ok... So I like out of the way dive bars.... This one USED to be an a-class dive bar, definitely out of the way (at the time the cops didnt even know how to get there). It was called Nats Den. DIVE. I recently had the chance to check out the new joint... It was pretty awesome. An all out side bar... Tables, Tikis, a stage for a band to play (one was playing). I bumped into old friends, had a beer. It was a completely chill vibe. I had a great time and definitely plan to go back... Perhaps on their In The Biz night? We'll see.

nothing wrong with this place. its a little hard to find, but once youre there, its a neat little tiki type outdoor bar. prolly not good in the rain as it pretty open. but its a creative little spot in the middle of a warehouse area. food and drinks were both good and reasonable. the band was good too and by 6:00 on a saturday, then had a nice crowd going. i recommend trying it and see if its for you. ill go back.

First time here. Arrived around 10:30 pm. on Saturday. Place was full and a great party atmosphere. Beer was 4.25 for draft. Music was excellent. Lots of people dancing. Next time we will try the food too!

Cuthills Backyard is the physical epitome of potential. The location is a bit bizarre as it sits off of Federal Hwy and Boynton Beach Blvd on the northwest side. It's hidden from street view and pressed up against the railroad tracks. But once you find it you will almost forget your are in this area of Boynton Beach. The tropical, tiki like atmosphere is all over the place for this all outdoor venue. it looks like a big backyard, makes sense. Two bars on opposite ends with a stage in the middle. There is also a Streamline trailer that the kitchen is in just off the side of the stage. One bar carries all craft beer while the other has all macro. Lots of additional tables to sit at around the area. They were pretty crowded the night I went in with friends and there was a cover band playing. Apparently they have live music every night of the week. The service was alright. The bartenders at the craft beer bar didn't really know the product and had to be corrected a couple times as they started pouring the wrong beer. Also the blue and red Solo cups didn't sit well with me. I don't need glass but at least a clear plastic cup. Nit picking I know. We didn't eat that night but a friend told me that the food is pretty good. Will try it next time. Prices for drinks were very good so couple that with a nice place venue and I can see this becoming a regular hang out. EDIT (4/29/13) Remember what I said about potential? The Backyard has hit that and exceeded that. There seems to be something new added to the feel or enjoyment of the clientele each time I go there. Almost all draft is craft beer now with the exception of 2 handles and they are using clear plastic cups (did my little review get that done?). Overall the Backyard is a unique watering hole mixed with outside Florida dining. They have found their groove and it is working.

Big disappointment while searching for a new local drinking spot. Guacamole was made with old overripe avocados and the chips and plantains were stale. Tacos green beans and had other vegetables soaked in butter sauce. Didnt eat it and still charged.Beer was fine. Across from Promenade Boynton. You'd think they'd bring their A game. Epic fail.

The BEST wings I've had in 13 years in Palm Beach County! Grilled, and the flavor is grilled into the wings, not dripped on with sauce like most places do... just ate 10 and I could eat 40 more! The real deal! Great bartenders in the back bar... very attentive... always has great bands...

This place has a great atmosphere & lots of entertainment BUT... 1. they need some soft lighting above the tables. We had to use our cell phone flashlights to see the menu. 2. beware of the 2 for 1 happy hour. If you are seated anywhere but at the bar, you must be served your second drink by the time happy hour ends (6 pm) Our waitress did not explain this, consequently they would not serve us our second drink!!! pretty crappy eh?

Place keeps getting better! Fun, friendly, beautiful place. Best Bloody Mary's north of Key West, actually makes us feel like we are in the Keys ;) Really good bartenders, music & ambience. We are wowed by the Tuna & the Burgers, better guacamole than Rocco's. Only bump was the extremely young and inexperienced server. Cute is good...experience is better. Will def be back, over & over.

I think this really was someones backyard. There are a few shacks across the street that people still live in, but mostly its an industrial / commercial area. The area is random at best, but once you get inside none of that matters. They definitely need a marked parking lot since people were parking all over the place. There was a valet, but who want to use them. It looked like you could easily get towed from the neighboring businesses but we didn't! Anyways once inside (outside) the backyard you will feel right at home. There are several large covered areas but mostly its all outside. The kitchen is an old (clean looking) camper and the only building is the bathrooms. The live band was great. Plenty of room and being outside helped with the smoking situation. It was somewhat an older crowd but I suspect they came with the band and left once the band ended. Super friendly bartenders. Great beer selection, especially the local Due South beers. They had at least 6 of them on tap. The menu looked great and I saw the raw bar in the corner as well. We didn't try any food but what I saw looked nice. They have about 12 tv's for the game and plenty of different seating areas. I was really happy with my first visit to the Backyard and will return soon.

The BB's outside bar with rocks instead of sand. It reminded me off the rum bar in Palm Beach Gardens without the bonfires. We didn't try any food since we were full and we concluded our date night with some drinks. The vodka and redbull drink I had was a little too sweet for me. When Chris went to order a captain and ginger, the waitress told him they didn't have captain morgan there. I don't know about you, but this was the first bar we have ever went to that told us that. No captain in ya? Just surprising. He settled for a sparrow jack drink. Hell, I don't remember the exact name of it, but he got another one, so I guess it was dandy enough for him. Be sure to get your people watch on since there are plenty of them in front by where the band plays.

Excellent music and atmosphere! The raw bar looks great and the stuff coming out of it smelled delish. I look forward to trying it next time. The veggie tacos were AWESOME. Perfectly seasoned and they had lots of veggies inside. My boyfriend had the pulled pork sandwich - and he said it was mediocre. It was very fatty and the sauce was too mustardy. Overall a great place and we will come back.

It's just not done yet. The wait staff is incompetent, the noise is too loud, and they're still working out the kinks. Give it six months, then try it out. Food was decent.

If you are coming here to watch a band and hang out. It is a fun place and very beachy. HOWEVER! Watch your bill! Almost every time I bring someone here with me, they have tacked on 2-3 extra items onto their bill. I never really get alot when I am there so it hasn't happened to me.... yet. But its happened to my mom and my best friend. The food is okay.. Nothing amazing

Have been looking for a place for my wife and I that has live music, beer, and appetizers. That's what this place has. It's outside only from what I could tell. We each had a Bloody Mary... little too spicy for my wife. Then got the guacamole... this was tasty, they serve it with banana chips and the regular tri-colored chips. I also had a local Boynton made beer called Due South and I would order it again in the future. If you want gourmet food this would not be first choice. The menu is very limited to say the least. But if you want to sit back with friends and chill to good music and beer then here you go. Age range of people there was mid to late 20's to 50-60's. No look in particular had bikers to grandparents to beach folk.

the place is cute...and new so there's plenty of room for improvement. They charged us $3.50 for a bottle of WATER though...so that really got my goat. I may go back and hang there...take up some space... but I surely won't leave one more cent in their registers. Dear Owner -- I realize you've made an investment. Attempting to recoup it by overcharging on basics will ensure failure.

My husband and I are fans of tiki bars in general and this one fits into the general description since its (1) completely outdoors and (2) super casual. The place is located next to the rail road tracks between Gateway and Boynton Beach Blvd. Parking is on a gravel lot next door. When we stopped by a live band was just getting started. First, yay for live music, the band was great. However, it was a bit too loud in that it was happy hour time and if you wanted to talk you couldn't hear over the band. Music was good but I would tone it down just a bit. The whole place is outdoors, which we are used to in that we like Square Grouper in Jupiter and Havana Hideout in Lake Worth. But its an issue in Florida, it had rained earlier and while the tables had been wiped off we had to get them to wipe the backs of the benches and we left as the storms rolled in. But the place has a fun vibe to it. The bar was generally full when we arrived but the tables were open, we were approached by a young guy who said he would take care of us if we sat at a table. He was friendly enough but uniforms might help distinguish the servers from the bar patrons as I wasn't sure who he was when he started talking to me. They had some decent happy hour specials which we enjoyed. I had the rum punch which, while it tasted good, seemed like a light pour. I had the local fish sliders with a side of sweet potato fries. Everything was hot and well seasoned. Food comes out of truck like Havana Hideouts. Our food was delivered by another gal who noticed my husband's drink was empty so she asked him if he wanted a second round which he did. Then our waiter showed up to check on us and did the same thing. When my husband told him the girl was getting the drink there seemed like there was some territory strife. This place is new so I think they need to (1) get their staff some uniforms (2) work a bit on staff training as there shouldn't be fights over who is putting the drink order in (3) make sure they wipe down all surfaces after rain. Food was good, prices were good (at least at happy hour), live music was actually great (but a bit too loud), drink could have been a bit heavier on the pour. I'm sure we'll be back and this is a good addition to the area. Wondering if its dog friendly, seems like it should be since its completely outdoors but need to check on that one.

I have mixed feelings about this place. Let's break it down into four categories: ambiance, service, food, beer. Ambiance was cool, fun. Live music (not great musicians, but it was live). Food was really quite good. 4 stars on the food. Beer....this is a tough one for me. I'm a beer snob. I like my Belgian ales (Chimay, St Bernardus, Duvel, Orval) and my German bocks (Salvator, Optimator). They do have a lot of craft beers (and they are really "proud" of them, $6.75 non happy hour. For $9 you can get a Chimay at the Omphoy). Unfortunately, the beers really weren't that good. They had a sharp taste to them, nothing mellow, nor aged. I don't know what happy hour prices are, but half off would be a bit of a high price for these brews. I think they're $3.75 beers at full price. Service. Jeez, with unemployment what it is, could you guys not find bartenders and staff who are glad to be working?? Maybe everyone was having a bad day, it was a Monday after all, but jeez, have y'all ever been taught to smile? Aren't most bartenders people who enjoy bantering with the customers? Not here. The bartender preferred to lean on the bar with his arms crossed. I will go back for the food, but I will drink my beer before and after going. Maybe get the food to go. One week later, upon further review: Made it in time for happy hour. My wife really liked the bitter taste of the beer. That taste isn't for me, but, apparently, some like it. Two for one beer and wine made the prices more palatable. Service was superb this time. Sherri (Sherry?) was outstanding. Food, again, was quite good. Better band than last time. Had today been the first time, I would have rated it 4 stars. So, I'll go with 3.5. Also, dog friendly! A bunch of tea cups and mini's. Quite fun

Great food, atmosphere, and music. However, if you're raking in the money, provide the appropriate service. I visited on a Sunday and the next night, thoroughly enjoying both visits. Then I took some friends on a Friday night and it was packed. We were just about to go when a table opened up rgt in front of the band(now have perm hearing loss) so we decided to stay. Waitress(blond(just saying)) takes orders and does not return for 45 mins. The food was delivered timely by another waitress with NO napkins or utensils and one order missing.(which we never got) After eating 1/2 the order with our hands, I finally get the attention of a mgr? and signal/sign that we have no utensils so he sends the "runner" over with them. About 20 more mins go by and the Blond returns like nothing happened. Now get this. I ask her one simple ques, "Hon, are you short help tonight?" and she says, " No, i dont think so". BONG WRONG ANSWER. So I ask for the Manager and over comes Doogie(a kid with a bud in his ear). Well he musta been listening to some music cause he sure wasnt Managing anything with that ear bud thingy. My bet is he was in the back with the Blond. Oh well i probably will try again but avoid Fri or Sat nites Too bad cause I like the rock bands on weekends the best. C'mon Management, I know they're pretty to look at when you're working there for hours but make sure they have at least 1/2 a brain. Oh and I dont care how good your Guacamole is, 12 bucks for a couple of smashed up avacados in a Backyard is robbery.(You dont have NYC rent for crying out loud)...

Although the atmosphere is key west like, relaxing and the food is good... the service is horrible. I have been there twice and both times I stood at the bar for around 10 minutes without being so much as acknowledged...the first time I went, the bar was half full, the second time it was full however people were coming up after me and getting service before I was. A couple of my friends went there last night and had the same problem. "Great place but horrible service".

Came here on a recommendation after Hurricane Alley for Happy Hour (4 beers) Oysters 2dz and Clams 3dz for $53.00. At Cuthills (still Happy Hour, lol) 2 beers Smoked fish dip and supposedly "Kobe Beef Sliders 4" cost us $31.00, Happy Hour beers(corona) $7.50 for 2,,really,,,maybe it's Happy Hour for the owner due to the $$$ he made on this! Wait staff basically walking around not attentive to their customers, definitely a party atmosphere for the crew, management and owner, customer footing the bill. As a Chef, having had Kobe Beef, knowing the flavor and texture of "Real Kobe Beef" ,,the cost per pound plus , THIS WAS NOT THE REAL DEAL! I would need to see the invoice and product label to be convinced. If they were sold a product called Kobe Beef, Then I wasn't the only one that was TAKEN for the $$$$. Overall, they place has potential, Nice outdoor yard (It did have a crowd), and great live music, but it will be suck when it rains (Summer is coming)! They need to be real about their menu (Real Kobe not Reg Ground Beef, Kobe Beef sliders would cost more than $14! and Happy Hour prices during Happy Hour,(2 Coronas at $7.50, then I would hate to see regular price)!!! GO FOREWARNED!

watch their prices!! we had a burger and a salad with a few craft beers...$90 with tip!!! cool place but we will definitely ask(if they will even know the price or can hear with the band or the train LOL) about $$ next time

Nice new neighborhood bar. Interesting pub menu. The fish tacos are very good and so is the guacamole, but it's overpriced -- as are several other menu items. Friendly atmosphere. While just recently opened, the venue continues to improve over time, but the staff still remains largely untrained and unprofessional -- doing shooters with friends while tending bar is not cool. Where are my free drinks? Outdoor seating only.

I love the whole set up of the bar and environment, and the food was really good. The service however is horrible! I've been there twice and don't know if I'll ever go back just because of the service. The first time I waited about 10-15 mins for the bartender to even notice me, even after I had said excuse me. The bartender helped 5 other customers (ones who have been sitting there and new customers) before she helped me. Then me and my friends were sitting at a table so I asked the bartender to order food and told her where we were sitting so she knew when the food came up, and she told me I would have to keep a look out because she couldn't leave the bar. I was appalled because all she had to do was tell the food runner where we were sitting. The second time I went the same bartender was there so I tried going to a different one to see if it was mate just that bartender, well that wasn't the case, she treated me the same as the other bartender and helped customers who came after me. It sucks because this was a really cool chill place to hang out if the service was better.

Cool outdoor tiki bar with live music and great fish tacos. Bartender was good enough, the food was fast, fresh and delicious. Limited menu items. The band was entertaining, but when the band finished the music got way too loud. I was under a speaker at the bar, and I did not feel like screaming to communicate. It's a cool place though and I will be back for sure. Love the vibe you guys got going on, but chill with the volume a little.
